Bow Valley College has received a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Applied Research Tools and Instruments (ARTI) grant to acquire motion capture technology, which will be integrated into the College’s new Digital Entertainment Nexus. This technology, pivotal for recording and digitizing human movements, will be used in various fields, including gaming, filmmaking, and sports science.

It will enhance BVC’s research capabilities in creating lifelike digital twins, improving user immersion in digital environments, and analyzing athlete biomechanics.

How does this project help?

This technology will equip students in the Centre for Entertainment Arts and the School of Technology with vital skills for the creative industries, linking theoretical learning with practical application and fostering industry collaborations. This initiative marks a significant advancement in BVC’s applied research and training capabilities, supporting the growth of Canada's creative sectors.
